ADHD Playlist

Finally, I’ve written a post that I find so unappealing and abhorrent that I’m being forced to post again less than one hour later to cover up my shame.

What else can I do?

Today’s second installment contains some of my youngest sons favorite songs.

The same child who inspired the description “he’ll either rule the world or watch it burn after setting it ablaze”

He’s got interesting taste.

Filed under songs my kid likes, this post is a cover up

Deep breaths…deep breaths… it’s going to be alright. The interwebz is totally made for self humiliation. You are among friends here. Everything is going to be OK. If any haters show up just get the axe out and scare them away. Or if you like, we can f*ck ’em up for you, because that’s just the kind of readers we are. Moody, violent, and slightly deranged 300 lb serial killers.

I feel strangely calm now. I think the fact that Sony disabled all of the youtube videos “by request” gives me the satisfaction of knowing I’ve been punished and this whole post was for nothing.
      Suck it Sony.

  2. Thank goodness I couldn’t open three of the four. Brings back memories of the Black Hole of Death I fell into when my oldest (the poster child for the non-hyperactive, passive agressive, chock full of IQ points so as to make him brilliantly manipulative form of ADD) fell in love with rap. Crazy how we survive it all. I think.

    • dufmanno

I wouldn’t go so far as to say I’ve survived it yet as I’m still wallowing in a shallow but dangerous pool called “in the thick of it”.
Trying to see the end of the tunnel but it’s a long way off.

  3. I dunno. I think I could hang out with him.
So could Merry. She’s 3. Her favorite song is Another One Bites the Dust.

    • dufmanno

What is it about that song? The raw explosive power? The otherworldly quality of Freddie Mercury? God, I just don’t know!!!
Anyway Merry sounds bad ass with just the right amount of adorable.

  4. now i totally have to read the other post. also, i like his taste in music, which i realize as i write this that that probably gives you reason for concern.

    • dufmanno

I would be more concerned if his musical taste sucked. Seriously, that’s a big concern in our house and our fucked up priorities might be half the reason we need to employ so many “professionals”.

  5. Sony seems to hate you. They hate me too. That’s why they laid me off. Fuckers.

    PS I’m back!

  6. Hmmm….awesome, awesome list. He has my vote for ruling the world and then if he feels like setting it ablaze.

  7. dufmanno

He loves votes. Sadly if he doesn’t emerge victorious from every contest he throws an epic fit but when you are a tiny monarch you can do what you want I guess.

  8. That’s a pretty awesome playlist. My son, who is almost 13 P.S., still wants to listen to crazy frog. Crazy frog, you guys. Crazy Frog.

I snuck some clash onto his ipod. I had to.

I rather like his taste….much better than believing that the legendary writing talents of Stanley/Simmons are far superior to Lennon/Mcartney

    • dufmanno

Don’t bash the Stanley/Simmons combo. Those guys made our childhood more interesting and our Halloween costumes epic.
I’m surprised we didn’t rig up a way for you to breathe fire while collecting Hersheys bars.

  10. *whispering… due to embarrassment… this once and for all proved my poor taste and knowledge in music… also confession… we listened to Mary Poppins this morning… and singing in the rain…*

    • dufmanno

Don’t get me wrong, we do our share of showtunes and Disney themed songs but while in the car I am the lord of the radio and everyone has to listen to my stuff. He just points out the ones he really likes.

Actually I still think Kiss belongs in the RnR hall of fame…obviously people like Jann Wenner and Dave Marsh, actually still buy into the idea that RnR is something other than pop the criteria influence?(kiss certainly has that) is it longevity?(Paul Stanley now has grey chest hair)…is it hit records?(can anyone forget the ingenious composition of Beth…4 writers involved in a 2 minute song..teehee)……for me the RnR HOF lost its credibility the minute they shunned Neil Sedaka

  12. i dig it! i think taste is relative to what they’ve been exposed to. my 2 are nuts about the clean version of cee lo green’s f*ck you, so there ya go… :p
